Description

Product Description

Trypan Blue manufactured by Securex Lab Sciences. Trypan blue is a commonly used dye in laboratories. It comes under the category of azo dyes. It is used to differentiate between live and dead cells in cell cultures. Trypan blue is known as an exclusion dye. Trypan blue is negatively charged and is repelled by intact cell membranes of live cells. These membranes do not allow the dye to enter and hence, the dye is called an exclusion dye. But, the damaged cell membranes of dead cells allow the dye to pass through and hence trypan blue stains the cell blue. Chemically, trypan blue is a derivative of toluidine.
