Ficoll is a polymer of sucrose and is non inonic in nature. It is often used in molecular biology experiments and is provided as laboratory grade reagent. The Ficoll comes without DNase and RNase to avoid any cross-contamination in an experiment. It is often used in density gradient related experiment such as separation of blood constituents using centrifugation technique. It is a highly branched polymer formed by copolymerization of sucrose and epichlorohydrin. It is available in 10 gm packet.
