Description

Product Description

Tryptone Soya Broth is a soybean casein digest medium, which is used in laboratories for the growth of several microorganisms. It is also used for mould sterility testing and other lower bacteria. The tryptone soya broth supports the growth of aerobes, facultative anaerobic and anaerobic microorganisms like bacteria and fungi. It is currently being used as a medium for the detection of viable bacteria in live vaccine samples, contamination in cosmetics and consumer foods. The medium is essentially a pancreatic digest of casein and papaic digest of soybean meal. These components provide amino acids to support the growth of microorganisms. The carbon source provided is dextrose and the buffer incorporated is dipotassium phosphate. To maintain osmotic balance of the medium, sodium chloride is incorporated. The final pH is adjusted to be about 7.3. Turbidity of the medium after at least 18 hours after inoculation indicates growth of microorganisms.
